About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Angie and I'm jumping into the blogging world, by writing My Weekly Words.  I'm a 28 year old Ohio native, currently living in Dayton, Ohio with my wonderful husband, our beautiful son, Oliver, and our perfect little misbehaving dog, Juno.  Here I hope to share clean, real food recipes as well as stories about my journey to in parenting, fitness, my garden, fun projects I'm working on and other things going on in my world.  I'd say I'm a wannabe homesteader who loves cooking, gardening, running, yoga, spending time with family & friends, dogs, hiking, adventures and life! :)

I work full time (at a job I LOVE!), so my goal is to post on here at least once a week.  I hope you enjoy what you read and visit often and leave a comment now and then.  Thanks for stopping by!


A little more about me if you're interested....

I love my family :) We're all super close, which is awesome!

I met my husband Shane at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  We are what you call "Miami Mergers" <3  We met in the Outdoor Adventure Club (when I went on my first backpacking trip).  A few months later we started dating....we both really liked hemp necklaces and had dreadlocks at some point in college -- soul mates :)

After college, we worked together teaching Outdoor Education and leading adventure trips across the country at an awesome camp on Cape Cod

We love being outside and competing each summer for the best Chaco tan lines (Shane always wins)

We moved back to Ohio for awhile, and then in the spring of 2009 we set off at Springer Mountain in Georgia to hike the Appalachian Trail.

We had an amazing adventure together, making great new friends over 5.5 months, 2,178.3 miles, 14 states and 300 snicker bars

In the summer of 2010 we got married in my home town :) Best day ever....

We moved to Virginia for jobs and enjoyed 3 wonderful years there.  We loved living in the mountains :)

We adopted Juno in April 2012 and spoil her rotten and talk about her like she's our child.  We're obsessed - who wouldn't be?!

In early 2013 we moved back to Ohio to be closer to family.  This was a huge year for us!  We moved home, bought a house, changed jobs and in September our little Oliver was born!

Looking forward to what 2014 has in store...
